Orthodontic Treatment for Kids and Teens – Chester County Orthodontists for Children near West Chester and Wilmington

Treatment for Kids and Teens

In the past, the common philosophy was to wait until your teenager lost all of his or her baby teeth before seeking orthodontic treatment. Although one can certainly be treated at that point, early detection of orthodontic problems can lead to easier, more conservative correction.

Today, the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that children receive an orthodontic evaluation at the first sign of an orthodontic problem or by the age of 7.

Not all children need to be treated at this early age, but an examination can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment. Severe problems may be better treated at an earlier age in order to create a better, more stable, end result.

Should your child not be ready for treatment, our office will monitor growth and development on a regular basis at no charge.
